Our Best Tree Give-Away Yet!

TreesNC’s  annual Christmas on Sunset Tree Give-away is all about promoting good will, encouraging folks to plant trees together, and providing information about proper tree planting methods.

Over the last four  years TreesNC has given out around 4000 trees during Christmas On Sunset!

“When you think about it, today those  trees are cleaning the air, stabilizing soil, and protecting our water resources  – while helping  families create living memories of Christmas,”  said TreesNC board chairman Bob Langston.

Last week, volunteers handed out  1,200 trees during Christmas on Sunset.

A crew of about 25 volunteers helped prepare the trees for the give-away  – that group was made up the TreesNC board and volunteers, youngsters and staff of the Central Boys and Girls Club, and members of  Asheboro Zoo School Future Farmers of America .

Another group of volunteers helped distribute the seedlings – the TreesNC team, students and teachers from  Asheboro High School and Zoo School,  Miss Randolph County, Miss Teen Randolph County and the Randolph Princesses.

“An awesome group of people attended the event, an amazing group of volunteers prepared and distributed the trees and there was fantastic support from the City of Asheboro,” said  Langston.
