Trees NC Provides 1000 Red Cedars for Christmas

Asheboro –  Trees NC  sponsored a Tree Give-Away during the annual “Christmas on Sunset” event in downtown Asheboro on Friday, December 13  -- providing 1000 Eastern Red Cedar saplings free to the public.

"We were excited to continue our tradition of handing out evergreen saplings, which Randolph County families have enjoyed planting over the years,” said Owen George, of Trees NC. “It’s such a joy to see the smiles on the faces of folks that receive the trees – and to hear comments about how large the previously planted trees have grown.”

Trees NC began the holiday tradition of distributing Eastern Red Cedar saplings in 2010.

Members of the Central Boys and Girls Club, as well as Trees NC volunteers, worked hard to ready the 1000 saplings for distribution during Friday’s event. In addition to Trees NC and the Central Boys and Girls Clubs, supporters of the Tree Give-Away include Resourceful Communities, Asheboro Randolph Chamber of Commerce,  The Downtown Asheboro Business Association, and The City of Asheboro.
