TreesNC partners with the Randolph County Partnership for Children to Support Shape NC.

Shape NC, an initiative to combat early childhood obesity,  incorporates a project of the Natural Learning Initiative at N.C. State University called Preventing Obesity by Design.

The program works with child care centers to transform their existing traditional playgrounds into stimulating, nature play and learning environments that offer opportunities for increased physical activity and healthy nutrition.

The Randolph County Partnership for Children has played a leadership role in raising public awareness and implementing initiatives to address the issue of childhood health in Randolph County for almost a decade- and is one of four regional hubs in the state for Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation's Shape NC Initiative

TreesNC is partnering with the Randolph County Partnership for Children initiative by providing  trees, know-how and volunteers for plantings at childcare centers within the Partnership’s Shape NC regional area.
